Frozen Greek Yogurt Kisses

October 7, 2013

Yogurt Buttons (2)OCTOBER 6th, 2013 — Aware that I was cooking a full meal for 4 people, I wanted to do a simple dessert. And nothing too decadent. It doesn’t get much better than items that I have in my pantry & fridge all the time. I confess I saw this idea on the web amongst the other food bloggers out there, under the moniker, “frozen yogurt buttons.”

So what did you do?
I dressed up my yogurt kisses by folding in 2-3 tbsp clover honey in 1.5 cups Fage 0% Greek Yogurt. I then added 1.5 tsp vanilla extract, and probably 1 tsp ground cinnamon.

With nothing other than a rubber spatula, I spooned the mixture into a plastic Ziploc bag, snipped off one corner, and piped these like Hershey’s Kisses onto a tray with parchment paper. I then freezed them for an hour and a half.

They were a delightful frozen treat.

This would make a great, healthy, high-protein and low-carb snack in the afternoon.

Yogurt Buttons (1)Lessons learned?
This is such a simplistically genius idea. I’ll totally do this again and try incorporate different spices, fruit compotes, jams, mix-ins, etc. I will no longer feel the need to go to Yogurtland on those scorching hot days.
